The BWM regulations require foreign and domestic flag vessels to abide by the BW discharge standards in the US waters. Coast Guard will check BWM activities and procedures on board for reporting and recordkeeping and check for its timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. The ship's BWM plan includes crew training to be validated during the vessel and port state inspections.
Any applicant who successfully completes the MRNSKL-949 Ballast Water Management (Blended) course meets:
