Any applicant who has successfully completed the MRNSKL-962 Marine Environmental Awareness (Blended) course will satisfy the following competencies, relative to marine environmental awareness only:

• “Ensure compliance with pollution prevention requirements” competency of Table A-II/1, and Table A-III/1 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010; and,
• “Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and measures to ensure protection of the marine environment” competency of Table A-II/2, and Table A-­III/2 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010; and,
• Specific tasks of the National Assessment Guidelines found in NVIC 10-14 Tasks 15.4.A through 15.4.G, Task 15.7.A and 15.8.A; NVIC 12-14 Tasks 12.1.A, 12.2.A, 12.3.A, and 17.lA; NVIC 17-14 Task 15. lA.
